Hi Steve! Great point. I didn't cover the other subnational resistance organizations a couple important ones which actually align with the regime at the moment. There are many groups simply making the most out of their own interests. I'm guessing that these other movements might flow with the winds of change and oppose the regime when it looks bleak. Its really a confusing landscape and has been for a hundred years.
This conflict has ebbed and flowed for decades. While indicators favor the resistance, I wonder if it’s the individual resistance groups’ goals that allow the central government to remain in a perpetual conflict rather than achieve “victory”?
